Ming style yoke chairs
This chair has retained its original shellac patina. It is one of the typical styles from the Ming Dynasty. We call it 'Deng Gua Yi' The name 'Deng Gua' comes from the lamp stand which was used in South China villages in the past, because the head of the chair looks similar to the handle of lamp stands which held hanging lamps on each side. These chairs were used by common families. The price is for one piece only.
