These old armchairs called 'Nan Guan Mao Yi' because the shape of the back look like a South China official's hat from the Ming Dynasty.
The carving of a flower and pots on the back, is the traditional lucky pattern, which means high status and wealth. These armchairs which have kept their original lacquer were used by a wealthy family.
